Merida marathon 2005 30-31st July.... Will and Shieldsy (reluctantly) took part in the Merida marathon this year. Review to follow

Glentress red route development: The latter end of 2004 saw the opening of the new improved section of the red route. We have to say that it is well worth the wait. The new descent is super fast and superbly designed. It is as freeflowing as any section we have had the luxury of hammering. It also links up well with the Ewok village and the final sections of the black route making it a very good alternative if you are not feeling up to the whole of the black route..... Well done the 7-stanes team again

Glasgow MTB mad has been created by the boys for the boys (and girls) of course. It has been born from frustration due to the lack of information relating to mountain biking in Scotland. Whether it be cross country, freeride or downhill. Our quest for new routes goes on.
Mountain Biking in Scotland is an increasingly popular sport and pastime.

We value your input!! The only way for this website to become something remotely useful is by collecting info. from other Mountain Bikers. If you have any info that you wish to share e.g. routes, events, handy hints etc. Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will publish. Please feel free to use the forum to arrange meetings and rides (even to the pub)

Lennox Forest trailbuilders. All the hard work from Ryan and the boys has paid off. All those nights and weekends building the trails whilst everyone else was out riding have produced some of the most exciting new trails in Scotland. MBUK has now featured the Lennox Forest trails and were impressed. We will be updating the Lennox Forest pages very soon, with some new photos and possibly some video footage.

We have took the time to post links to the best MTB web links. Some good shopping sites, manufacturers sites and links to other clubs. There are plenty of bargains to be had out there if you are just willing to shop about. Just shop around and you will see what we mean

One again I have to mention how good the final descent at traquair is. It has to be the top freeride downhill section in the UK. Big up fpr the 7 stanes.

Ben Nevis conquered Saturday 3rd July 2004 saw the Ben well and trully done. With five setting off early in the morning and three giving up after only an hours climbing. We knew this was not going to be easy, but f**k it..... You only live once. Read Frank's review.

Base camp. Laggan Wolftrax is the latest purpose built mountain bike centre in Scotland, designed and built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. The trail network offers some of the best mountain biking in Scotland encompassing challenging and unique features for all abilities from the fun blue to the highly technical black, you won't be disappointed. There is a mixture of mature forest and open country riding allowing you to make the most of the big mountain views.

Help required The guys from the Carron valley team have been working their fingers to the bone to try and build some top quality trails near Glasgow. They are constantly looking for help trailbuilding and would welcome help of any kind. Remember that you will get far more enjoyment from the trails knowing that you have helped create them. Check out the Website for up to date news and plans.

Why you should always wear a helmet... As you can see, your chainring can make a few rather nice puncture marks in a helmet when the bike lands on top of you. You can imagine what this could do to your skull!!!! Please remember to wear your lid. It could save your life.

The trailbuilding continues!!! The boys have been busy up the forest building some proper "North shore" style experiences. As you can see below, things are starting to hot up. However, the guys need your support in their efforts to persuade the F.C to continue the project. Please visit the Forum to offer your support.
